Yoga is thousands of years old. It means different things to different people. To some it is purely a form of exercise – to others a way of life..

In the west many people do not realise that Yoga is not confined to just the physical practice or asana, and the media has unfortunately made many people feel that it would not be appropriate for them as they do not have the ‘right body’ or level of flexibility or that they are too old

Here at Body Nurture, yoga is suitable for all levels – classes are small so beginners can always be accommodated.  Classes may include chanting, breath work and meditation in addition to asana – physical practice

Thousands of years ago the great sage Patanjali shared  ’The Eight Limbs of Yoga’

These ancient texts are like a guide – showing guiding us along the path for living and experiencing our lives life to our full potential

Yamas – or how we practise yoga off the mat

Niyamas – self discipline and spiritual practices

Asana – physical practice

Pranayama – the expansion of life force trough breathing practice

Pratyahara – withdrawal of the senses to experience the inner self

Dharana – focus and concentration

Dhyana – meditation

Samadhi – transcendence – the supreme state of consciousness

Body Nurture Yoga Classes

Trained by Simon Low of the Yoga Academy, my style of teaching is safe and gentle yet challenging and dynamic. My experience of STOTT Pilates and remedial massage and my training with Simon help me to ensure that all students are taught from a sound anatomical basis. Whichever style of class you choose you will leave feeling rejuvenated yet relaxed and more at one in mind body and spirit

Yin and Yang Yoga Restore

A gentle approach which supports and honours all styles. It combines Yang – a more dynamic practise with Yin – the more still, passive, deep and restorative asana. When practised regularly this will help to bring balance to body and mind

Monday mornings 10.00 – 11.30 am

Dragon Flow Yoga

Combines classic asana with dynamic, flowing movements – flavoured with essences of Tai Chi and Qigong. Classes finish with Yin postures – deep, supported and restorative stretches. Dragon Flow will leave you balanced, energised and yet relaxed

Thursday evenings 6.30 – 8.00

Pre and Post Natal Yoga

At Body Nurture we feel that extra special care needs to be taken of you and your baby when practicing yoga whilst pregnant. For this reason Body Nurture does not invite expectant mums to join our group classes, recommending instead they join a specific pre natal yoga class with an instructor who specialises in group pre natal instruction.
Alternatively please email to enquire about 1:2:1 pre or post natal sessions with Sue
